IS NEW JERSEY “IN YOUR BLOOD?”

Service Experts Serves Up Food and Fun to Benefit Community Blood Council

SOMERVILLE, NJ (August 29. 2012) If you’ve got Jersey “in your blood,” then join Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning of Somerville on Friday, September 14, for a fun and free event to benefit the Community Blood Council of New Jersey.

Service Experts will be serving free lunch, from BBQ and burgers to hot dogs, side dishes and sodas, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at 185 Industrial Pkwy.  Giveaways, music and exhibits to help you get your home ready for winter are also on the schedule. The staff from Community Blood Council will also be on hand for those 17 years and older who can donate blood (16 years old with parent or guardians consent).

“Both the summer and holiday seasons are typically a time when our blood supplies can reach dangerously low levels, so blood donations and keeping the shelves of our local hospitals stocked is tremendously helpful,” said Anthony DeLuccio, public relations director for the Community Blood Council of New Jersey. “Somerset Medical Center and Robert Wood Johnson Hospital are two facilities that really count on us, so if you have a love for New Jersey ‘in your blood,’ this is the perfect way to help community health care groups and your neighbors in need.”

Dave Schneider with Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning knows about a love for New Jersey. His company has operated in the area for 40 years; two companies, Fras-Air and General Conditioning, merged about eight years ago to become Service Experts.

“We have about 45 employees who live here and thousands of customers, so we’re excited to do something that can literally be life-saving,” said Schneider. “We’re calling this our First Annual event, because we want to bring in hundreds of folks and have it be so successful that we do this every year.”

The Community Blood Council of New Jersey has been providing blood support in this region since 1966.  The group is dedicated to providing the safest blood products and related services to area hospital-based customers. To see how you can help or to schedule an appointment for a blood donation or platelets, please call the Community Blood Council of New Jersey at 609-883-9750 Ext. 145 or visit click the website to schedule your time to donate at www.GiveBloodNJ.org
