Service Experts network of heating and cooling service companies has announced the launch of the Service Experts Home Health Report Card, a free in-home indoor air quality analysis. The companies will offer the service as a complimentary addition to scheduled home service and maintenance visits and on an as-available basis when homeowners do not have service and maintenance needs. The program is being implemented as part of Service Experts' commitment to educating consumers about the hazards of indoor air pollution and providing guidelines for improving the quality of air in their homes.
According to Service Experts, many homeowners are unaware that exposure to air pollutants can be up to 100 times higher indoors that it is outdoors, due to lack of circulation and filtration of air. With the average person spending more than 90 percent of their time indoors during the winter months, polluted air inside the home can significantly impact the health and comfort of homeowners and their families. The Service Experts indoor air quality education campaign and the Home Health Report Card are designed to identify sources of pollution in a home, as well as a variety of controls to reduce or eliminate indoor air pollution year around.
The indoor air quality analysis, conducted by a Service Experts technician, will evaluate a home’s air against key criteria, such as humidity lees, condition of ductwork and carbon monoxide monitoring and a report will be provided to the homeowner. As part of the Home Health evaluation, Service Experts will also provide consumers with an educational DVD outlining the importance of understanding indoor air quality, the most common cause of pollution in the home and steps to reduce or eliminate indoor pollution.
Consumers who may not have current service or maintenance needs but are interested in learning more about the air quality in their home can contact Gordon’s Service Experts or Gregory’s Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning to schedule a free Home Health analysis and receive a report card upon completion. These complimentary appointments are limited to schedule availability and are on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, consumers can request a complimentary copy of the Service Experts “Air Quality – Understanding the Quality of Your Home’s Air” educational DVD and an indoor air quality educational brochure by calling Gordon’s Service Experts at 321-4070, Gregory’s Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning at 239-2300, or Service Experts at 1-888-HEATCOOL (1-888-432-8266).
