The Sun Is Green! SunSource™ Solar Air Conditioning

Perhaps you’ve installed a programmable thermostat to maximize energy efficiency during air conditioning season. You may have insulated or reinsulated your home. Maybe you’ve installed new, energy-efficient windows and doors. And when purchasing appliances, you look for ENERGY STAR® ratings and energy use information on the label. These are all good “green” choices that help you use energy responsibly and save money, but have you considered the energy used by your air conditioning and heating equipment?

Studies have shown that, on average, up to half of household energy use goes to air conditioning and heating.* The new SunSource™ Home Comfort System is the industry’s first solar-assisted central heat pump that uses a combination of solar energy and electricity to reduce peak demand on your home electric usage.

During daylight hours, the SunSource Comfort System uses renewable solar energy to power the heat pump’s outdoor fan motor, reducing the need for electricity purchased from your local utility company. The solar panel increases the system’s overall efficiency, reducing power you have to pay for by as much as 8%. Full sun is not a requirement. On days with limited sun exposure, the SunSource Comfort System continues to operate efficiently using metered electricity provided by your power company.

The ENERGY STAR®-qualified SunSource Comfort System delivers even air conditioning and heating in every room and operates in a wide range of sunlight and temperature conditions. It's a viable renewable energy solution that can make a positive change in your home environment and your electricity bills. For more information about this innovative new “green” system that produces air conditioning savings this summer and all year 'round, call your nearest Service Experts AC contractor today.
