3 Clues You May Need A New Central Air Conditioner
Summer is coming to an end; your air conditioner may be too. Just because you’re A/C is being used less doesn’t mean it doesn’t need attention. After months of keeping your home cool, it may not only need a tune-up, but depending on the age and location, may even need to be replaced. Here’s a few simple ways to tell if it’s time to upgrade to a new A/C system, and why the time to do so is now:
1. Air conditioning repair costs are more than 20% of the cost of a new basic system
Just compare what you spent in
A/C repairs over the last year to the average cost of a
new system. A
reputable air conditioning contractor will provide a complimentary evaluation of your home’s comfort requirements and a quote for the system of your choice. Beware of high-pressure sales tactics, but don’t let anything dissuade you from the opportunity to save with
HVAC Tax Credits, current season-end discounts and local specials.
2. Home energy costs are reaching higher than $200/month
The more you pay for
energy costs, the more you can save with a higher efficiency system. Consider this; if you saved just $50 a month in energy bills and the monthly cost of a new air conditioning system were about $50/month, BUT you were able to increase your comfort and contribute to conserving energy and the environment, which would you prefer? Or to put it another way, you could be benefiting from a new home comfort system... instead of your utility company benefiting from your old one.
3. The air conditioning system is over 10 years old
The older the A/C system, the more your home and family could benefit from today’s energy efficient, conservation conscious comfort systems. A new
Hybrid Home Comfort System or
solar assisted option make good choices, especially for the increased value of your home.

If you find any of the above are true, simply consider replacing your air conditioning system now rather than next summer. Why? Two reasons: HVAC equipment manufactures are slashing prices with
rebates and discounts due to lower economic demand. And, federal
tax credits could put up to $1500 of your investment right back in to your pocket. That’s serious incentive that shouldn’t be wasted.
Yep, just as now is the time to buy a new home if you are able, it’s also the time to buy a new home engine, a new air conditioning system. Don’t wait though, the discounts won’t last long... and we may never see them again in our lifetime.
