Five Ways to Disguise Home’s Your Air Conditioning System

Families put in a lot of labor and effort to build their ideal home. So when you’ve spent all season planting, watering, and installing solar lights but you turn around to see the monstrosity that is an old air conditioner, it’s not surprising that you want to conceal it. We’ve provided a few ideas for you, just remember not to block your AC system when decorating or landscaping near it. It needs room to breathe to continue to function effectively and efficiently.

1.Construct a screen

We found this awesome idea from The Ugly Ducking House. See their final product and learn how to design your own A/C system disguiser.

2.Get some green

While Listotic - Listed & Loved was demonstrating to their readers Attractive Ways to Create Privacy in Your Yard, we adored their idea of tall garden pots and tall flowers to help conceal your A/C.

3.Climbing roses

Add a pop of color with climbing roses. This image is from the Bless My Weeds article on suggestions for planting climbing roses. Even though their idea isn’t about concealing your AC system, wouldn’t this make a beautiful piece to place in front for a little camoflauge?

4.Plant some bushes

Listotic - Listed & Loved has awesome articles about DIY for your home and even had a few examples about disguising your air conditioner in their article about improving your home’s curb appeal. Here you can see they planted a couple bushes in front of the AC system, giving enough space for the AC system to still efficiently run.

5.Build planters

Vertical planters are an amazing way to grow flowers and herbs without commandeering too much yard area. Vertical Garden Online gives great ideas for vertical gardens, but we just adored this pretty sage wall.
