Service Experts Donates Over 300 Pounds of Food to Minnie's Food Pantry

August 20, 2016

The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was honored to donate more than 320 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.

“Last September, I had the chance to get a group of colleagues to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was such an amazing experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a critical part of this community.”

Minnie’s Food Pantry was started by Cheryl Jackson as a way to honor her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. Not only does Minnie’s provide free healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to utilize the food they are given to create healthy, long-lasting meals. They also offer resume support along with financial and job classes to help members of the community get back on their feet.

Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to supply meals for six families for the month.

“All the team members were so thrilled that we had this food drive for the organization, and they even took us around their incredible facility,” Wilson said.
