What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a couple of the most typical air conditioning problems in North America.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment working but there isn’t cool air blowing, you might need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air coming out of your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your system is not producing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it simply burned out and you have to replace it. Humidity tends to cause more condensation so a second problem to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is restricted. If you can confirm these matters, you may be able to pinpoint the culprit; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause significant cooling troubles. Another problem that could cause your lack of cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a frequent issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off repeatedly, it could mean one of multiple things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and needs cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be back in business. Remember that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the correct temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your trouble, whatever AC trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
