There is nothing wrong with my current unit! Except when your technicians start tinkering around with it. This last visit, everything was working just fine. Then all of sudden, it wasn't. 3 hours later, and many tears of frustration from me, it starts working again. I truly feel as if your company is trying to scam me! Your employees are very kind and respectful, and I understand they are probably just doing what they're encouraged to do. Make money to reach a quota. We are in the middle of a pandemic! I find it completely unethical to try and make a buck off people, when its completely unnecessary. I will no longer be using Service Experts!"

"As I explained to the person who set up the appointment we had a person from our grinder pump company here because not only was the tub and toilet backing up but we also needed to fix or replace the grinder pump. He and my son evaluated the situation and said we needed a plumber to snake the drain pipe that leads to the grinder pump. So I called Clifton Park plumbers which turns out to be Roland J Down and specifically stated I needed someone to SNAKE A DRAIN PIPE that leads to our grinder pump because the toilet and tub were backing up. Your employee that showed up here was under the impression that he was here to fix the grinder pump and apparently made a phone call and was told to leave. All of a sudden he was out of here and did NOTHING!!!"

"I've been a long-time Service Experts Plus customer, and I'll confess I'm always torn about renewing the annual Plus agreement. I appreciate the peace of mind that I can get same day service if the A/C fails (which I've taken advantage of multiple times), but the value otherwise is very low. Specifically, the actual check-ups with a technician are pretty worthless. Yesterday was at least the 2nd (maybe the 3rd) in the last 5 years where the checkup itself has broken something in our system, which was operating just fine prior to the visit. Yesterday, after the tech left, my upstairs unit was no longer working (it started blowing warm air), so I had to call back and set up an appointment for someone to come back. The receptionist first suggested that it be an appointment for the next day. Only after I clarified that they'd broken something did she agree to have someone that day. (I will say she was very polite and professional throughout). The person that came back was the same tech who had been there in the morning (Billy). He was professional and courteous throughout. In this case, something had happened with the overflow water pan power shutoff switch when he checked in in the morning that made the compressor overheat. The tech admitted he must have accidentally triggered it. The time prior when this happened (maybe a few years ago) the tech didn't tighten the coolant seal enough when he checked pressure and it all escaped. I think the incident prior to that was something with the heat. My point here is that I feel like I'm better off waiting for something to break on it's own and then calling Service Experts to come repair it versus risking having you guys come check things out, because my odds of something breaking from your visit are quite high. So then the question is -- is it worth $250 a year with you simply to get same day service? What would you do? (BTW, I'd have marked this a 1 vs 2 on the scale, but because the tech and your receptionist were polite, I gave you an extra point)"

However, the cost of the capacity alone was $260 and the cost of the motor with capacity was over $600 which seems very expensive. I had Enoch then come in to talk to me about a new air conditioner. He quoted me $8k for a brand new air conditioner which was a shock, but then tried to sell me on the Advantage Program which is ridiculously expensive and would have had me paying $15k over 10 years for the system. I would have been better off to finance the $8k and sign up for the maintenance program. I was so put off by the rip off that I cancelled my monthly maintenance program and called Western Heating. They fixed my capacitor for $119."

A fifth technician returned and said that there might be a leak in the unit and that we might have to replace the entire system. I requested a supervisor. When he arrived, he determined that one of the valves wasn't connected properly, leading to a leak. Finally, the seventh technician came to repair the valve. I was displeased with all but the last two technicians."

"Techs came by on Wed , checked attic and found temp, difference and advised they thought Freon was load, removed electrical cover, maybe checked things, then advised the stem they connect gauges to was a small size like a car tire and there gauges would not fit, so now we went to unit being old but they cleaned the unit and it should work better. Cooling got worse,called back to have them check outside unit and they advised they could not get cap off of stem to check Freon and again the stem had small fitting on it, advised needed to replace outside unit. Gave 3 quotes of 11000.00 to 15000.00 to replace. Called person who installed it the next day, they sent over a tech who in less than 45 seconds have the stem cap off and gauges on. unit was low on Freon and charged systems. While waiting for him to get here called 2 other A/C services and both quoted same type system, outside unit and coil each was under 6000.00 installed. They also advised to offer training for your techs on how to remove stem caps ."

When I called to get a technician to come to fix the problem I was told that no one was available, so the water leak continued. When no one came by the afternoon I called again and was told that no one was available but we could make an appointment for the next day. At around 9:00 PM Darrell called and said that we would come in an hour, He did and shut down the unit to stop the water leak, so we had no air conditioning downstairs for the night and following morning. Darrell came back around 2:00 PM and fixed the problem. He was good. To me, this was extremely poor service for a customer who is a subscriber to your service."
