"Since Google Reviews appears to only allow me to post one review per company, here's my review for today's plumbing service: Washer drain was backing up and spewing water over my basement laundry room floor. Also noticed the upstairs kitchen drain waste water was coming through the washer inlet pipe as well. Tried to use my little hand held snake but that didn't work. I needed to call in the big boys. Since Service Experts had sold and maintained by current HVAC system and had done a wonderful job I figured I give them a try on my plumbing issue. The technician, Daren arrived and I explained to him what my problems were. He snaked out the Washer inlet as well as the kitchen drain. YAY! Back to normal again. Daran was polite, professional and knew what he was doing. The price for service was reasonable as usual. Since I have a HVAC service contract I also bought a 1 year service contract for my plumbing (Since this is an older house-built in 1959) which, again, was very reasonable. Thanks again Daren!"

Jason felt the unit should be replaced so I got a second opinion. Turns out the pilot light had gone out. It was relit by the second co. I called and the furnace works. Also, Jason said he would have your estimator call me to set up an appt. for Mon. 1/27. I never heard from anyone all week. until early Mon. a.m. Will Z. called to say he would be out at 8:20 a.m. Imagine my surprise! Not a very good testimonial. I really feel like I was ripped off and your intention was always to convince me to replace my furnace. Both young men were very polite and Will seemed very knowledgeable but, needless to say, I will not be having your company do any work for me."

"While no one ever wants their furnace to break down, especially in the middle of the night, Chief Bauer made it less painful by providing excellent customer service. From my first contact with Chief Bauer's staff (again, in the middle of the night) to my last contact, everyone that I encountered was professional, helpful and made me feel like my issue was as important to them as it was to me. Matthew arrived on time and was able to diagnose the issue very quickly. Unfortunately he had to make several trips back to Champaign to get the right parts. However, he maintained his professionalism and never complained once (and I live almost an hour away from Champaign). Matthew answered all of my questions (and I had a lot) and he made sure everything was running right before he left. I have already recommended Chief Bauer to several family members and friends."

"While the plumbing aspect was done very well, he knew NOTHING about the electrical work and tripped a GFI which shut off power to a large part of our house. He left exposed copper wire under the sink and just put a wire nut on that not even cutting it back to the insulation. Didn't disconnect the power at the switch so the wires were live. If you are going to work on electrical fixtures you should have a rudimentary knowledge of electricity. We had to get an electrician in on a weekend to repair the work he had done."

"I was advised that they would remove, clean and re-tube the condensation exit/tubing for the AC unit that is above the furnace. The salesman and the service tech that were at the house informed me of this was included in the service and guaranteed me that this would be done. The service people that came later to install the new furnace said they wouldn't do it and gave me all kinds of excuses for why they couldn't do it. I found this to be very disappointing and frustrating. At least I have a functional furnace but wonder if the reason they couldn't fix the old one is because they just wanted to get this over quickly and get a quick sale. It makes it very hard for me to highly recommend you. The work itself appears to be of good quality but if I would have known this I would have fought a shit load harder on the price. I had already invested over $900.00 in service calls and unnecessary repairs on the old furnace and was only given a credit of $400.00 which I have been told is not the norm. Oh well I was the one that was in a hurry."

"I did not appreciate a hard sell. I have a maintenance agreement that WAS NOT HONORED!!! There was no cleaning like you guys do in the past. It was dirtier when they left. Also, Paul stepped in rust or water and got it all over my carpet. Yes, I have pictures. I also asked for brochures. Joe said they would be over my head and I would not understand. They then said they would not restart my furnace yet Paul went down there and restarted it 2 or 3 times and then turned it off and said it was up to me. I have been a customer for a long time and cannot believe I was treated like this. Joe said a year or so he worked in kitchen cabinets. Maybe he should go back to that. He would not quote a straight price for a furnace nor the name of the furnace or air conditioner. My calculations do not add up for me to go into the Advantage program. I feel like I was slapped in the face. For the record, I had a 2nd opinion on my furnace and he said that there was absolutely no cleaning. I know there wasn't as I was down there watching. After they left, I spent the next hour cleaning the carpet. Oh, and Joe decided to further scope my furnace while he took another phone call. Yes, he was on the phone while he was looking at my furnace! Do you believe it???? They were only interested in trying to sell the advantage program. Again, how disrespectful for such a long standing customer."

"I have been very happy with the service until this service call. The technician, Jeffery, was here more than 4 hours to fix a short. He told us multiple times that the rate was going to be $120 per half hour. I did not believe him and checked website and called Rolf Griffin. Both website and person I talked to at Rolf Griffin said there is only flat rates and the $120 per half hour is not right. After manager talked to technician, he still tried to charge me for 2 quantities of Man power non-technical because of being at our house so long. I told him that does not seem right with website and what people at Rolf Griffin told me. He changed the bill back to quantity 1 for that category. I am not certain if that was even right for correcting one shorted out wire between thermostat and furnace. I was eventually charged $204 for service call. In summary, Jeffery either 1) did not know what he was doing for billing or 2) was trying to make us pay more than we should have been charged. I want to request that Jeffery never comes back to my house, as I do not trust him."

"Paul stated at the end of his inspection that if we had the Ultimate Protection Plan we would NOT BE CHARGED for his visit. When we stated that we did have the Ultimate Protection Plan he said it didn't appear that we did. Upon showing Paul our properly dated invoice showing coverage through 7/29/20 he then insisted the plan actually doesn't cover his visit after all and we still owed him the fee anyway payable right then. He then produced two blank documents from his truck that he didn't understand and he insisted that somehow these specifically explained why we owed money. Paul was unable to point out anything specific on these documents to justify his statements. He was just hoping that I would be dazzled by the profuse legalize and agree with his contradictory statements. Paul obviously doesn't understand the details of the plan and was too stupid to catch his own contradictory statements. After he left, we discovered he failed to turn back on the UV light in our air handler. Great. Luckily, nothing was wrong with our system. This time. The new system your company installed has had MANY ISSUES. So, now I have to pay $90 for a quick visit to inspect a known quirky system by a man that obviously has little to no understand of plan coverage and billing, brazenly contradicts himself and then leaves a crucial component of our air handler turned off. All while having already paid $258 for the Ultimate Protection Plan. Ask yourself, would you be happy or want to pay for this particular instance of service from this technician?"
