Rocky Mountain Power’s Wattsmart Homes program offers cash rebates to eligible Utah residential customers on qualifying rate schedules. The program was updated effective February 27, 2026, with new offerings covering heat pumps, weatherization, and appliances. According to Rocky Mountain Power, eligible homeowners can qualify for rebates up to $2,000 on qualifying heat pumps, including ground-source, cold-climate air-source, and dual-fuel systems. Standard air-source heat pumps that don’t meet cold-climate thresholds qualify for a lower rebate amount. A note on federal tax credits: the Inflation Reduction Act’s Section 25D Residential Clean Energy Credit, which previously covered up to 30% of qualifying geothermal heat pump installation costs, applied only to systems placed in service on or before December 31, 2025.
