Save on Energy Bills in North America with a Ductless Mini-Split System
Mini-split systems are ideal for North America homes heated by ductless systems—hot water, electric heat or radiant panels. They’re also a good approach to heat and cool homes without capacity for ductwork, additions, garages and more.
The system—an outdoor unit and a quiet, wall-mounted indoor unit—is frequently referred to as a mini-split heat pump. Heat pump systems have been used in southern climates for decades to heat and cool homes.
However, mini-splits are more energy efficient because they are zoned systems. This means you can change the heating or cooling in individual areas.
In comparison with traditional electric heating systems, the EPA determined ENERGY STAR®-rated models can lower your heating costs by up to 50 percent. This is due to the fact that mini-splits transfer heat instead of creating it.
A mini-split system could also lower your cooling costs by 30 percent, in contrast to regular air conditioning. The system is able to conserve energy because it uses compressors and fans to calibrate cooling speeds.
Because there are no ducts on split systems, you won’t have the energy loss involved with ducted systems like central air or heating.
